Book Review: ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!

Picked this up on a whim one day and have not stopped reading Stephen Hunter. Better than Ludlum, as good as Clancy. Read this, then read Dirty White Boys and Black Light - together they are an excellent trilogy. Time to Hunt was decent, and we finally learn about Donny Fenn. Read them. You'll be a Bob Lee Swagger fan for life.Book Review: AWESOME!

I second and third everyone else's comments on this book. I too have never read a better book in my life! Every friend I ever told to read Point of Impact also agreed with me. By the way I read in the paper a couple of months ago that they ARE making this into a movie!! Can't wait...Book Review: All shooters will love this gem.

I had never heard of this book, let alone its author Stephen Hunter. I happened to be looking through my recommendations on Amazon and found this book. I was kind of surprised, because it sounded a bit different than most of my other recommendations. Seeing that it had 5 stars with 140 reviews, I thought I'd give it a try.Wow. This book is awesome. Bob Lee Swagger is a man nobody should mess with. He's a smart, Southern boy who knows his guns and just wants to be left alone with his dog. Nick Memphis is a hard-working, well-liked FBI agent in New Orleans. The author really develops these characters (especially Swagger) to the point that I felt like I knew them and was there with them. There are so many twists & turns to this book - it's a constant game of cat & mouse and many times you're not sure who's the cat and who's the mouse.
When I finished this book I was so upset that it was over. I really, really, really enjoyed this book and I especially loved Bob Lee Swagger. Semper Fi.
Book Review: An Loc revisited

After re-reading this novel more than a dozen times, I've found only one glaring error - An Loc was in III Corps - the nearest mountain was Nui Ba Ra. I know, I was a "gun driver" there for a tour - compliments of the "Horse". (1st Cav - reference Quan Loi)I have to thank Hunter for changing my wife from the "Just how many guns DO you need?" to the "Buy me one of those!".
