I polished this one off in about 5 days. I know that doesn't sound impressive, but for me it is. The Bob Swagger character just continues to amaze me. The storyline progesses in a way that kept me guessing for the most part. I did guess the little hitch at the end which was referenced earlier in the book, but it made it no less satisfying to read. Plenty of action and intrigue for anyone that likes spy/suspense novels.
I will be checkiing out other Stephen Hunter books as soon as possible.

This book was awesome. It is the reason I read Hunters other titles. I was glued to this book and read it in one 24 hour period. It keeps you guessing the whole time and the action never stops. truely a pleasure to read. If you like this book, the other Bob lee book that is next best is "Point of impact"Book Review: BEST DAMN BOOK I EVER READ!!!!!!!!

I was actually angry when I finished the book! Not because I didn't like the way it ended. But because it ended! I wanted to go on reading about Bob Lee Swagger,who I had become to think of as a real person, due to the excellant writing skills of Stephen Hunter! I tracked down Mr. Hunter one day just to tell him how much I enjoyed his book and to ask if there would be more about Bob. Also I asked him if there were any plans for a movie. He said he wasn't sure, But we both agreed that Sam Elliot would be perfect for the part. In closing all I can say is I've NEVER been so moved by a book that I hunted down the author to thank him for writing it!!Book Review: Best Action Thriller I have ever read.

This is the absolute best story you will ever read.I have read Impact at least 5 times and also all the other Swagger books.Been a fan since the FIRST publishing of MASTER SNIPER. We need 1. A Movie 2. A new Character molded in the image of Bob Lee. Mabey expand on Nick Memphis?
