Book Reviews of Point of ImpactBook Review: Best of its genre Summary: 5 Stars
This book was so good that I loved every word of it! Bob Lee Swagger is the ultimate male. With elements of David Morrell's First Blood, this great story of payback and redemption is one that helped to break the stereotype that all Vietnam vets were a bunch of PTSD psychos.
The story moves at such a unyielding pace that when it reaches it's brilliant conclusion, I was cheering out loud. I hope Stephen Hunter writes more books that deal with modern times because he is the best.
Book Review: Best of the Bob Lee books Summary: 5 Stars
The first time that I read this book I was blown away. You will stay up all night with one!!! I have read all of Hunter's books and this is clearly his best, followed closely by Dirty White Boys.
Book Review: Better than the movie Summary: 5 Stars
I saw the movie first and then read the book. While the movie does give a very nice visual rendition of the book, reading is much more engaging. The storyline was great. As a woman, some of the gun aspects of the book were a bit too detailed for me, but it was educational. Will definitely read other Stephen Hunter books.
Book Review: Blown Away Summary: 5 Stars
Bob-Lee Swagger did more to me than he did to villians at Ramdyne. I unfortunately have read the Swagger books out of order, starting with Time to Hunt and then Point of Impact, which gave away a few things. This book is terrific and I would recommend it to fans of Clancy.
Book Review: Blown away by Bob "The Nailer" Swagger Summary: 5 Stars
Ok what a corny cutline, but this book does "hit the bullseye".. it does start a little slowly, but it certainly builds momentum.. I definately wanted to hear more about Bob the Nailer. Hunter evokes the excruciating detail of a master sniper in action without it ever getting dull. I thought it was much better than any clancy I had read lately.. put this guy on the "Rainbow" squad.
