Book Review: If you only learn one lesson in life, learn this one
Summary: 5 Stars

I recommend this book to all my clients who I think can handle it. (Some people just aren't ready and can't begin to understand the concepts). The concept is simple, yes. All truly deep truths are very simple. But how do you do it? It is not easy explaining something that really can only be experienced, but hats off to Tolle for doing an amazing job.

I have been a student of psychology, am a full time therapist and find this the single most helpful tool to living a peaceful life. We cannot trust our emotions, which are always either being triggered by past events or future worries. We can trust in a higher plan - and the way to do that is through every single moment. God said I AM. not I was. not I will be. I AM. You can only ever find absolute truth in the present moment, in the NOW.

If you ever wondered *how* to 'live in the Spirit', then this is the book you need to read. Tolle stumbled upon this truth and was given a gift to be able to communicate it to others. It may lead you to many places you thought you would never go.

Book Review: keep on gaining read, after read, after read
Summary: 5 Stars

An inspirational read, everytime I go back to it, I gain more clarity about its purpose. A fabulous book to remind us that the only way to truly live joyfully is to live in the 'NOW!'

I recomend it to everyone, even if just a pinch of curiosity about the book, that you will not be disappointed.

Book Review: One of the best spiritual books ever written
Summary: 5 Stars

When in times of personal crisis or devastation, people rush to the self help section and buy lots and lots of spiritual or mind, body and spirit (self help) books. But dont waste your time, just buy this one and Stillness Speaks, they are all you need.

The Power of Now is a spiritual book with a clear message - human beings think too much, we think and think and think all day long and mostly to the detriment of ourselves. But we are so used to thinking we just keep doing it and end up feeling worse.

This is a book you will keep and refer to from time to time because it gives you strategies for living in the moment, enjoying your life and finding happiness.

I also loved reading his book 'Stillness speaks'. Both books are thoroughly recommended to anyone looking for answers.

Book Review: Good book, but there is much better
Summary: 4 Stars

Good book overall. Tolle is correct in most of his recommendations, which are, in truth, a rehash of many of the classic teachings on spiritual awareness. While correct in explaining that watching and thus stepping away from your thoughts and moving deeply into the moment are portals into the divine, his 'signposts' towards that are not helpful in a sustainable way. It is clear that he has delved deep into the spiritual realm, and from that place his explanations are the obvious thing to say, but nonetheless the way it is expressed is unlikely to be transformational for most, even the earnest seekers. The book carries a good charge though.

On a side note, some of the stuff he says seems unjustified and a bit airy fairy, like his comparison of male/female consciousness etc. If our identity as male/female is but an illusion (dream) as all other aspects of physical existence, and all that is underlying existence is the 'One' being, then the male/female aspects of this illusion should ultimately be immaterial. Moreover, he seems to believe in rebirth, unless realisation/enlightenment is reached, but is rebirth always in the form of the same sex, or does it alternate...? if so how is one sex closer to the truth. In fact, when in the state of presence, sex, or other forms of identity do not exist, which is something that he talks about in other parts of the book.

There are also far reaching statements like, 'humanity has been in the grips of pain for eons' implying that humanity was once pure and divine and then moved the wrong way. It seems a reasonable assertion that the mind is becoming stronger and stronger, but the claim that once things were pristine seems like an ego statement.

By all means read the book. The guy is much better and seems to have reached a much deeper state of realisation, than the airy fairy Phd types like W. Dyer, or even seasoned capitalists like D. Chopra, but there is much better stuff out there. Discover Sri Ramana Maharishi for instance, then you will see true depth.

Book Review: Only the ears of a seeker will find the Power in this book
Summary: 5 Stars

It's so personalised the genre of Religion and Spirituality and there's many ways to find a relationship with God ("For there are many rooms in my Fathers house.") What seems a master piece to one might seem dam right irrelevant or worse to another and so I think that this book is for the open minded individual, someone who's looking to grow in their peace, love and appreciation of life. This book will insistently welcome and advice you to be still and aware of all that's around and within you, it's a true master piece of this generation. For myself this book has helped me to realise so much more about how lost I can be in the dramas of my life and how I almost relish the pain of emotional situations that I often find myself in; it challenges me to see through the illusion of these dramas and see that the past and the future are only bringers of pain. If you want help, need help, would love help, then this is the book that you shouldn't miss as "you trudge the road of a happy destiny :-)
