Book Review: There are many ways to God
Summary: 5 Stars

I fully agree with all the other 5star reveiws of this book. As a seeker and someone who can see the good in basic Christian teaching i could never accept the mumbo jumbo of HAVING to believe in "the blood of Christ" etc before you can find CHRISTIAN ENLIGHTENMENT(or "go to heaven" as they put it). However, after reading ECHART'S's book and finding it answered all my questions and truly worked for me,i was shocked and dismayed at the reaction of so-called "SAVED" christians to the idea that there could possibly be another way to GOD(or enlightenment or whatever).Their minds are just so closd. It is little wonder that there are so many wars between various countries of different religions. They just can't seem to see that they all basically believe the same thing---just use different words!!
There is nothing wrong with basic Christianity----there is A LOT WRONG with RELIGION.
I hope for everbody's sake that we NEVER have a "CHURCH OF THE ECKHART TOLLE" to Smother what is a new, fresh and enpowering idea with the trapings of religion!!

Book Review: Buddhism??
Summary: 5 Stars

Was given this book and was knocked out by it.Have since begun reading about other spiritual ideas and religions.I find firstly ---"there are no knew concepts in this book" secondly "it is Buddhism rehashed!" That may sound very negative but i think everyone should read this book---WHY?---because the basic message in all religions and codes such as Buddhism are GOOD.This book approaches and displays these fundamental TRUTHS in a modern lanuage and makes them understandable to 21st century man!----that is where the strength of this book is.It doesn't matter whether you find the same principles through Buddhism or christianity or whatever but i think it is more difficult to find them among the trappings that surround ANY religion tht has been around for a long time-----read any history of Christianity for example---it started with similar ideas but has added and subtracted from them over the years to suit various tastes and egoes split into factions and forgotten the basic message.

All in all ---a book much needed in the modern world.

Book Review: Life Changing
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book after reading the first chapter in a hospital waiting room visiting a friend. It got me thinking right from then.

It then gives you simple steps about what to think about to start you on the way, or to further you if you have already started. This book certainly changed the way I see things, and though I can by no way claim to be perfect its advice has helped me in many situations.

The book is divided into sections, and while it may be useful to read in the order written, I don't feel this is absolutely necessary. It covers a range of topics, and pushes you in the direction of thought patterns that are helpful to you. Whilst giving the reasons and explanations in a clear way.

Strongly recommended for ANYONE with an open mind and a willingness to just think about what has been said. As with any book like this, it shouldn't be taken as absolute literal truth, but after considering it you may find it does for you.

Book Review: There really is 'NO thing' else
Summary: 5 Stars

A lot of the stuff contained in this book you will find corresponds with many 'other' guides to self enlightenment. The theory (explained 'simply' in the second half of the book; the first bit is very turgid - but stay with it)provides an immediate reference point for those moments of anxiety, dysfunction and the daily unconsciousness we ALL experience - as human beings. Much of what is said in the book I experienced in the 1970s when I learnt Transcendental Meditation - but without any of the 'holy roller' stuff; that eventually makes you drift back into unconsciousness. Even TM is delivered in a semi religious way - which is what often attracts us to these theories - the search for spirituality. This book has helped me put together a lot of things I'd already come across, but finally, I found something within, rather than 'without'. A must for anyone embarked on a journey of self understanding rather than self indulgence. Something you can access whenever and wherever you might be.

Book Review: Delicious and very digestive! Better than Zanax...
Summary: 5 Stars

If you ever wondered "what's the purpose of bieng here, doing what I do and standing what I stand?" the you should know Tolle's idea of being right here, right now. A calming effect covered me as I was reading. In a recent overseas trip, in the middle of a rough turbulence, this happened to be the best book I could ever hace picked. An oasis to enjoy... Oh! by the by, it does not matter at all what religious ideas you have, also you'll understand why at the end, they all are the same and how useless (not to say ridiculous) extreme belief is.
