This book is a real gem, to say the least. Eckhart Tolle is able to explain very deep and fundamental issues about life, ourself (body, mind, pure consciousness), and the universe in simple words, making this universal wisdom surprisingly accessible. For instance, Mr. Tolle brilliantly explains the fascinating concepts of time and space and their relationship to our mind and its processes and pitfalls, in other words, their relationship to the way we experience our life. This practical book contains important portals to disidentify from the mind/ego and to be in touch more deeply with our true inner self by entering the eternal now and, as a result, becoming more and more liberated from the past and the future. The book is written in a captivating format using highly relevant questions and answers. While reading or listening (the unabridged audio book is very inspirational too!) your consciousness will shift profoundly. It is a mind-blowing read/listening experience, even literally speaking ;-) In case you are looking for a meditation practice that perfectly fits in with these pure insights and pragmatic 'exercises/portals' bringing inner peace and joy on a day-to-day basis...Book Review: This is a wonderful book. As a 17 year old male living in the UK, I've read a number of books with the same message ever since I realised how insane most of my actions and thought-patterns were. Tolle delivers his teachings clearly and firmly, the Q&A format of the chapters makes the pages flow and continuously revive running themes throughout.Book Review: A book for skeptics

I admit it, I'm a scientific skeptic and annoyed by "new age speak" and unsubstantiated claims of spiritual powers and enlightenment. So when my girlfriend recommended I read Tolle's book about the "now experience", I was incredulous. However, I quickly realized Tolle's book in a category by its self. No grandiose claims, panacea remedies, or motivational empowerment here. His penetrating insights that will make you STOP what you are doing, and I guess that's the point. The "now awareness" Tolle describes is available to everyone (new age seeker, or skeptic). My girlfriend and I have finally found common ground. If nothing else, it's a breath of sanity. A wonderfully lucid and convincingly liberating insight into what really matters Eckhart Tolle's book cannot fail to lift your spirits. How could it? It makes no claims that you cannot verify yourself. It does not depend on Ancient Wisdom or Dogma, though it does not conflict with the perennial wisdom. Rather it illuminates what is often hidden in metaphor or obscure language. Beautiful in its simplicity and profound in it's insight, which cannot but give hope to the desperate and inspire even the most cynical. Read it NOW and give yourself a beautiful present.
