Book Reviews of Power of NowBook Review: Now is the time. Summary: 5 StarsThis is a question and answer book about how to live life to its fullest potential. But beware: it is not a new system of ways to manipulate your circumstances to get what you think you want. It is actually about getting into the moment, living in the now, and discovering a possibility for well-being inconceivable to the mind. I found the questions asked compelling and familiar. For example, "How do I get rid of emotional pain?" The answer is to experience the emotions or sensations we call emotional pain without judging them. The pain is just our resistance to those emotions or sensations. Tolle's tone is sincere, supportive, and rings with truth. Just reading the book is an opportunity to experience enlightenment. One of my favorite quotes is "You do not need to wait for the world to become sane, or for somebody else to become conscious, before you can be enlightened."If you're looking for additional titles that don't just discuss enlightenment, but actually convey the experience, you'll be delighted to read "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. The Kanes' style is down-to-earth and graspable for those who want to discover their own greatness. My hat is off to the Kanes and Tolle.

Book Review: It saved me from insanity Summary: 5 StarsI found this book very well written making it easy to understand. It has certainly helped me appreciate the moment rather than living in the guilt of the past and in constant fear of the future. Eckhart describes that the past and future, and psycological time are all an illusion of the mind and that 'you are not your mind', your mind is infact a tool. However if you do not watch your mind it will control you as it does the majourity of the human population causing pain, grief and suffering. He goes on to explain that if you observe your mind mulling over the past and future, rather than looking for fullfilment on the outside (which is almost always temporary), you can eventually eliminate unhappiness and reach enlightenment.Definatly worth a read.
Book Review: Are you ready for it? Summary: 5 StarsAfter 12 years of searching, reading hundreds of books leading me down lots of dead ends, and living a life on an emotional roller coaster, finally I read something that really speaks to me. This is a fantastic book to begin your journey towards "completeness". It has changed the way I think, like no other book. But that's where the clich? ends - don't expect your life to improve - mine has actually got worse! Intellectually/spiritually for the better, but internally it's turmoil, and I can only hope this is what mystics call "dark night of the soul", because surly it can't get any worse, can it? My girlfriend has gone, I sold my flash car, and I watched my attitude dissolve into humbleness due to difficult surroundings. As for worldly desires, I don't really have any except to try and make my life simple. Now once you have read and understood The Power of Now, you simply have to read "I AM THAT" by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. I know it's expensive, but trust me, I have this by my bedside always, and reading just a page or two before I sleep fills me with hope.
Book Review: Now is the time to get this book Summary: 5 StarsIf you dwell on the past then you will always be living there. If you worry about the future you will always be anxious. But, if you live in the moment, and allow this book to show you how, then inner peace will surely be the outcome. I highly recommend this book. Also, a similiar book I would like to recommend along the same lines is called, The Little Guide To Happiness. Great guide if you want to achieve it.
