Book Review: A Great Straight Forward Read! Be Prepared To Be DISTURBED!!

The graphic details of this book is without a doubt DISTURBING! The way she describes her father as the monster that rapes her is very disturbing to read. I actually couldn't believe I was reading some of the straight forward things said by her. In some situations I just don't feel like it was needed. But it's a true fact and sadly it happens to millions of women. Don't get me wrong though, the book was GREAT! A definite page turner, from start to finish. I finished it in one day and I have a walking 11 month old :) So it was really good! It kept me interested. It's a very emotional read. It makes you laugh, sometimes want to cry, but it makes you really understand not to judge and the horrors that are out there in the world! I loved it because it's REAL LIFE! These things happen. Precious was one of those girls and to hear her side of the story is a very unique perspective. I felt so horrible for this girl. Nobody deserves to get treated like that. I admit the text was a bit hard to get used to being that she wrote the book as if precious(who is illiterate) wrote the book so there were alot of misspelled words. Once you get the hang of it though, it's no biggie. It's good because you get to truly ALMOST experience how she's living. Get the book! I truly did enjoy the book. It's worth reading and worth the money! I would highly recommend it. Not to young readers though under the age of 14 due to the graphic details of rape scenes and explicit language.
