I've read a number of Nora Robert's books and this was my favorite. The characters were well-developed and believable, especially Emma McAvoy and her rock-star father. Nora portrayed her characters in "Public Secrets" very realistically. She was not afraid to show their weaknesses. The murder of Emma's beloved baby brother was a tear-jerker and made me cry. I did figure out the identity of one of her brother's murderers halfway through but it wasn't obvious like in some of Nora Robert's other books. The second murderer was a shock. I love how NR adds a touch of mystery and suspense to all her stories--some better than others. The romance in this book was exciting and sexy, not raunchy like in other romance books. I read this book in 2 days and did not want to put it down.
