I myself am not puertorriqueña but I love this cookbook! It was given as a gift to me by my ex-novio (who is puertorriqueño) over 10 years ago. Even though we never got married I still love to make piñón, pollo en fricasé and asopao de gandules. If you are a gringa like me you can make these dishes too but make sure you have plenty of time and love to put into them.
