This is a good book if you have ALLOT of time on your hands. It has allot of traditional recipes using traditional ingredients. There are know short cuts. My fiancee is half Puerto Rican and half Spanish. His mother is an amazing cook and I found out that she learned how to cook Puerto Rican dishes for her husband by buying one of the original prints of this cookbook. I was so happy to find an English version. I recently made a dish for my fiancee and he said that the recipe rivaled his mom's cooking! I was so happy. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who wants to learn how to make authentic Puerto Rican recipes.
