This book can make you think those plain white walls in your rental are your best friend! Another reviewer complained about the white-on-white color schemes found throughout "Pure Style", but this misrepresents the book. "Pure Style" uses bright and light color schemes, with sunny yellows, sage greens, cool blues and soft lavenders on the soft furnishings, and various shades of white on the tables and cupboards featured, usually in a shade that matches the walls. This technique keeps the space feeling as bright and spacious as possible. Light colored woods are also used in many examples. In addition, this book offers some detailed advice on choosing things like dishes, rugs and linens to create a clean and fresh look, which most other DIY interior decorating books don't cover.
"Pure Style" includes DIY instructions for a variety of simple projects which makes it a great reference for renters on a budget.
