Book Reviews of Quest for a MaidBook Review: A Twisting tale where you're never sure of the outcome. Summary: 5 Stars
This is my all-time favorite book. I love the way it always leaves you wanting more. It's rich in plot and always piles on more complications. This book ties together magic, fantacy, and a little hint of romance mixed with lots of friendship and adventure. If you are looking for a book to escape into, this is your best option.
Book Review: A book that you always remember Summary: 5 Stars
I first read this book back in gradeschool but it is one that has always stuck with me and I have looked forward to sharing this with my younger cousins.
The tale of Meg pulls you in as you watch her grow up with all these huge events happening and discovering what it means to idolize someone who may not be worth that kind of respect. Meg's innocent love of her family and friends is what sticks out to me and their love and loyalty in return.
It's a great book for young girls to read, I wish there were more out there like this.
Book Review: Awesome Historical Fiction! Summary: 5 Stars
I really liked this book. I couldn't put it down the whole time I read it. Buy it if you want a great story with a fascinating plot! If you're interested, Mrs. Hendry has another book I am reading called "Quest for a Kelpie". I hope she writes more! This book gets 10 stars from Review: Dense writing for people that appreciate a good story. Summary: 5 Stars
Dense writing, with a good plot that deepens along the way. The title does not describe the book, as it is more about the relationships that Meg forges with people, rather than about actually questing for Marie. Note for people that do not like historical fiction in general: the historical notes and flavors do not intrude on the story. Ever read a historical fiction novel that continually interrupts the story line with mini-lectures on history? Doesn't happen in "Quest for a Maid." Note 2 for other folks that read poetry... it is delightful to see Sir Patrick Spens come alive.
Book Review: Excellent Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I was recently given this book because I am an avid reader and I love books in general. This book I especially enjoyed because it was set in 13th century Scotland and it did have to do with Medival times. This book was a bit slow paced but it was adventerous all together. The thrilling account of Meg's childhood and her transition into adulthood knowing of her sister's magic and keeping her head straight. This was a wonderful book and who wouldn't read it with it's opening line? The glossary was a bit incomplete but it still deserves all of it's 5 stars. This definitely should have a sequel.
