Book Review: Amazing!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I can honestly say that you will not find better vocal lessons in any other book or teacher for that matter. After a few short weeks,my voice has gotten stronger, louder, and I hit notes that I thought were impossible.Jaime breaks it down in easy to learn/understand lessons that benefit everyone from the novice to the professional vocalist. Buy this book, you will not be dissapointed!!!!!!

Book Review: Apprehensive, but now a believer.
Summary: 5 Stars

So, I'm going to preface this with a little information on me. I'm 19, and I have had about 4 singing lessons, which I did after buying the book. I'm considered a bass/baritone. Before buying the book the lowest note I could sing was about an A2, and the highest was an F4 above middle C.

Well, I read the whole book and sort of understood what was going on. It was really hard not having someone there to help me, but I tried applying the things in the book. My range expanded, going down to a Gb2, and up to an A4, but that was really pushing it to the limit. I then took several lessons, and he helped me to better understand how to apply what Jaime was teaching. My range went higher from there, but after I dropped the lessons due to not having time to take them, I totally forgot what I learned and was back to where I was before.

All the sudden, I had some sort of drastic change happen. I was driving home late at night, and tried doing a vocal slide; started on my lowest note and slid up as high as I could.

I have NO CLUE why all the sudden it happened, but it did. I went past my break point, and up into the Robert Plant zone, which was really crazy and something I never thought could happen. I thought it was a fluke ,and tried it again the next day. I could still do it, and this time I measured it. I slid all the way up to a C6. Almost 2 octaves higher than where I usually flipped into falsetto. I seriously can't believe it.... I can't automatically start on a high note and sing Communication Breakdown in a single try, but just the fact that I am hitting these notes means it IS possible.

Sing a whole lot, read the book, and just have fun. It took me awhile to get to where I am ( and even then I still don't know how it happened), but I'm almost starting to take this for granted. I pretty much don't remember what it was like to have a break point and not get past it, but MAN am I glad it's gone!

This book is a complete must. Check his forums after you buy it. I also think there is a new revision coming out.

Book Review: Best instructional book for any singing style!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best book on singing that I have ever read! The author, Jaime Vendera, gives you everything you need to improve the strength and quality of your voice. He explains the basic mechanics of the voice in an easy to understand way. Then, he provides simple, step-by-step exercises to help you reach your full singing potential, including warmup exercises, preventative maintenance, improving your ability to sing on pitch, etc. I particularly love the "pitch mapping" idea. There are also downloadable audio examples on jaime's site. If you are considering purchasing a book on singing, this is the one to get. Simply put: read this book, practice the exercises and follow the included principles, and you will improve!

Book Review: Buy this, then practice, practice, practise :)
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been singing rock/metal for a couple of years and have been trying out a couple of self study programs. So far, Jamie's book is the best I've come across. It's got great exercises that cut to the core of the troublesome areas that singers often encounter + a ton of useful tips that you can utilize. This is the revised edition which also features additional information on screaming and other interesting things which is a nice bonus to people who want to learn something about that (ME).
This might not be the most extensive vocal method (though it still covers a lot!) or have the prettiest pictures, but if you can see through that (and you really should) then this is a gold mine. If you're dedicated to put in the time and practise to follow the guidelines in this book then this is the no bulls-t way to become a better singer. Simple as that! It certainly is helping me to become the singer I want to be!

Book Review: Good Job Jaime! by Thomas Appell, author of Can You Sing a HIGH C Without Straining?
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first saw Jaime breaking a champagne glass with his voice on the Discovery Channel show "Mythbusters," I knew he had something going. His quest for understanding vocal technique has resulted in Raise Your Voice, a book I recommend for anyone serious about achieving good vocal technique.
