Book Reviews of Remember Me?Book Review: A Bit Disappointed Summary: 3 Stars
A fun, light-hearted chicklit book that is very predictable. I'm obsessed with Sophie Kinsella but I thought this new book paled in comparison to her Shopaholic series.
Book Review: A Hard Act to Follow... Summary: 3 Stars
I've been a fan of Sophie Kinsella's work since "Shopaholic," and she definitely has a way of crafting a memorable heroine with a plucky sense of humor. In fact, she's my favorite of all the chick-lit writers (and I read more than my fair share).
However, this story lacks that certain sparkle that so many of her other books have had. Not only is it nearly impossible to suspend your disbelief in so many of the book's impossible situations, but I don't find myself relating with Lexi all that well. And it's not just the amnesia. It's practically everything about her.
It's so clear from the get-go that Eric is hardly the perfect husband. Yet there's so much build-up to the eventual breakup that I lost interest by story's end. Thankfully, there's a few engaging supporting characters and glimpses of Kinsella's usual humor to prevent "Remember Me?" from being utterly forgettable.
Looking forward to seeing what Kinsella comes up with next, though...someone as memorable as Becky Bloomwood, please?
Book Review: A Kinsella Classic Summary: 5 Stars
This novel is an excellent read, with enjoyable characters. Sophie Kinsella knows how to make you laugh and smile. She has a way of making readers want more and love her more with each and every book!
Book Review: A bit disappointed... Summary: 3 Stars
This was an entertaining read but I was a bit disappointed with the way it played out in the end. It seemed like the author didn't quite know how to wrap up the story and did so haphazardly.
Book Review: A disappointed Sophie Kinsella fan...small spoiler Summary: 2 Stars
I LOVE Sophie Kinsella...but I was very disappointed with this book. Not as unique in voice as her other books, plus the whole book's "romance" was based on an affair.
