Book Reviews of Remember Me?Book Review: A must read! Summary: 5 Stars
What a delightful novel. Sophie Kinsella has a true art for storytelling and creating characters that spring to life out of the pages. Lexi was easy to identify with and a a very like-able protagonist.
This is one book that I would love to see on the big screen.
Book Review: A quick, fun read! Summary: 4 Stars
I adored this book and the main character, Lexi. I loved her wit and charm. I laughed out loud a few times and I even cried a tear or two. I could really feel her frustration trying to navigate this new world. It was sort of like a mystery, suspense trying to unravel those lost years and what would happen to change someone so drastically. I didn't want it to end and would really enjoy a sequel to see how it all plays out.
Book Review: Absolutely charming! Summary: 4 Stars
Remember Me? is a quirky, fun novel by one of my favorite authors (and one of the few whom I'd gladly buy in hardback, pre-ordered and sight unseen from Amazon). Remember Me? features Lexi Smart, who wakes up one day to find herself twenty-eight years old, working as a director in her company, married to a (seemingly) perfect man, and the possessor of the most fabulous closet she has ever seen. The problem is, Lexi can't remember the last three years of her life, those three years having been wiped away in a car accident. Lexi frantically tries to regain her memory and figure out who she is; along the way, she learns that she's turned into a completely different person than she expected to be.
The writing is funny and quirky, and I love how Sophie Kinsella manages time and time again to suck the reader into the plot. My only problem with the plot was that the characters seemed to have changed too much in a three-year time span, especially Lexi, who turned out to be a completely different person at twenty-eight than twenty-five. Kinsella has a talent for creating protagonists (like Becky Bloomwood and Sam Sweeting) who are completely average in many ways, but who are nonetheless endearing, and Lexi Smart is one of them.
Book Review: Amnesiac has a new life Summary: 4 Stars
Lexi Smart is an ordinary English girl with an ordinary job and an ordinary boyfriend. She suffers head injuries in a car crash and "loses" three years of her life to amnesia. Imagine her surprise when she is told that she is now a manager at work, and that she is married to a handsome, wealthy man. What looks like her new perfect life comes with some bumps in the road and Lexie has to decide which person she really is--the one before or after the accident. Sophie Kinsella scores well with this stand-alone novel after her very popular Shopaholic Series. Her new heroine is a refreshing change and this book is guaranteed to keep you laughing.
Book Review: An Easy Read Summary: 4 Stars
This book is about a woman in her twenties. After a bump to the head, she wakes up in the hospital to find that things are very different. She has to figure out how and why things have changed to help save her department. I don't want to give any of the story away. I may have already. There are so many parts to it. It's a very fun read; one of those books that you want to keep reading to see how it ends. The main character is very easy to relate to, and I found myself rooting(sp?) for her. A part I keep thinking about is the Mont Blanc, which was disturbing to me because her husband is kind of creepy. :)
One thing I can share is that I bought this at Target for less than half of Amazon.com's price, and it wasn't on clearance or on sale. I would say the price, but I've noticed that Amazon.com just cuts prices out of everyone's reviews.
Happy reading!
