Book Reviews of ReplayBook Review: This is by far the best book you will ever read! Summary: 5 StarsReplay answers that eternal question; 'what if I could live my life over again?'. Not only does the main character live his life over again, but he does so with all the knowledge of his previous life, including many major sporting events, in which he amasses a huge fortune. He also tries to manipulate some of the major news events from 1963 to 1988, including the Kennedy assassination, before realising that his attempts at changing the future become futile, when he dies in 1988 for the second time and replays his life all over again. This is a book you can read over and over again and one which you will never be bored of. The main characters are so strong and the story is one in which everyone will be able to realte to, and it will be on your mind and in your thoughts for years to come after you've read it.
Book Review: Interesting concept, hard to put down, deeply moving Summary: 4 StarsThis book has an interesting concept wherein the main character dies of a heart attack at the beginning of the book, then wakes up again as himself when he was a young college student. Through the story he keeps dying on the same date and time and coming back as himself -- hence the title Replay. Through the story he falls in and out of love during various replays, examines the meaning of life and love ...
This was an engaging read. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because somewhere in the middle I felt like giving up the book all together. It was becoming a little repetitive. My husband read it before me and I actually said, "just tell me what happens in the end, I don't want to read this anymore." He refused to tell me. Well, I finished the book and was glad I did -- riding through the few pages that weren't enjoyable, the pages that dragged. It was very deeply moving and in the end was well worth reading.
Book Review: Stunning Summary: 5 StarsThis is a special book and works on a number of layers. One of those few books you will read again and will be passionate about recommending to your friends.Middle aged man dies, finds himself back in his youthful body in college with knowledge of what is to come. Makes himself a fortune but then dies again and goes back once more. What will he do this time? And what will he do when it happens again. And again. It is about choices and it does make you think "what would I do if I found myself back in college, but knowing what I do now?" My ramble does not do this book justice, go and buy it now.
Book Review: Living your life again Summary: 5 StarsOne of the few books that I have read without pause. I found that I could get completely immersed in the main characters lives. It made me think what I would or could do if I was given the chance of being able to 'do it all over again...and again...and again...'As well as a facinating story, it gave an insight to the change in peoples values since the 1960's. Science fiction or fantasy it was an excellent read and highly recommended.
Book Review: Replay - An outstanding book Summary: 5 StarsThe idea is basic, similar in style to Groundhog day in what happens when you know the future and how you can affect it. First time, make a lot of money, have a lot of fun, then when its the day when you are due to meet the wife for the first time, only this time she can't stand you. Unlike groundhog day, he relieves decades each time, and having a fast wealthy life soon gets boring. What if the government find out, they are willing to start wars to stop growning dissent in other countries, and they want you in their control. Then you realise something happened that hasn't in all your previous lives, there must be other replayers out there too... A brilliant read, so thought prevoking, you always have to read another page. First time I read it in three days then immediately had to read it again. If you can get your hands on it, do, you won't reget it.
