Book Review: A Good Collection for the fan of the '1632' universe

If you have read any of the 'Ring of Fire/1632 Universe' novels and you've caught yourself wondering at the introduction of new characters or other story aspects that seem to be treated as already familiar, then I recommend that you read this book. One story in this collection gives the origin of the USE Navy which figures prominently in the novel '1633'. This collection introduces many of the characters that become very important in later installments, such as the Tom Stone (Stoner) and his boys, the origins of the phone company, etc. These stories are written by various sci-fi authors and, each putting their own spin on the characters and the world, but truthfully it works very well. I was apprehensive about the idea of story changing aspects being designed by committee, but I was pleasantly surprised. These stories are very much stand alone making the reader contemplate the things that hadn't necessarily been dealt with during 1632 and some of the following works. I recommend this book if you enjoy the other works in this series for both enjoyment and for fleshing out the storylines a bit more.
