Book Review: A great unconventional zombie story.
Summary: 5 Stars
This isn't your typical zombie outbreak story that starts with a man in a white coat dropping a vial that turns people into zombies. It ain't got a police force/army company fighting off the undead hordes.
Ever wondered what it would be like if the dead stared to rise while you were out camping? Think of the terror, only a flimsy tent to keep them away from eating your brains! What about if you were in a paintball competition, wrapped up in your pretend war, thinking how cool you are using tactics to take the 'enemy' down. Those little balls of paint aren't gonna deter the walking dead from ripping you apart!
By taking the well-trodden zombie outbreak out of it's usual city setting and dropping it into a rural retreat, Greg Solis brings a fresh perspective into the tale. The paintball contest is exciting to read even without the gory parts. And boy, are there some gory parts! Ever wondered how long you can survive with having your trachea ripped out?
