Book Review: A Bit Of A Disappointment
Summary: 3 Stars
Ernie Ford's oldest son reflects on the dysfunctional life he lived with his parents and younger brother Brion. Lots of detail in spots, but many other periods are glossed over, or not mentioned at all.
For instance, I wanted to know more about Ernie's second wife he married on the rebound. How did she manipulate him in such a way to have his sons written out of his will? What was Ernie's reaction to his surprise induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1990? The '70s and '80s decades had very little meat.
Final analysis: A well-written book that should have been at least 100-pages longer.
