Book Review: A solid essential read

Any book on a star where the star cannot be interviewed can be difficult to write up, but there has been some authors who've managed really well. Patrick Agan could have pushed himself a little further to make the book more interesting. The entire career of Robert De Niro is covered, with some good insights on how the actor got into acting and the tremendous amount of willpower and dedication he took to make it. While the research is solid, there are some flaws. Given that this is the fourth revised edition of the book, it's almost unforgivable. For example Agan refers to a movie script title 'Handsome' that as 'yet as a finished film has never surfaced on this intriguing idea'. The movie, which he claims was never made, was actually made in 1989 (the year this book was released!!!) under the title of 'Johnny Handsome' and starring Mickey Rourke. Hopefully Ragan will read this review and change this information for future editions. Good if you're a De Niro fan.
