Book Review: An excellent book on all things Frost

I didn't know much about the life of Robert Frost before I read this book. I needed some material about him to write a college research paper, and wasn't content with the ususal reviews on his works that I came across. Up to that point, I had read several of Frost's poems, trying to decide upon which ones to include in my paper. I was drawn in by Frost's articulate way of communicating the solitude one feels with nature and also within one's own thoughts. I decided that I needed to know more about Robert Frost - the man - and the times in which he lived and wrote about, so I could better understand the depth of his prose. I was delighted with this book! It was all that I hoped for, as it provided many, many insights to the man and his works thoughout all of his life. I was also very pleased in the splendid way that Parini noted his reference and research material. Parini has given us a gift in this book, as he painstakingly searched out and interviewed Frost's contemporaries and found rare documents to learn more about him. I have certainly enjoyed Parini's labor of love, and encourage anyone who is a fan or Frost's poems to read this book on his life, too.
