Book Review: 3.5 - Competent but not a standout.
Summary: 3 Stars
Aging spouses participate in a "rollback", or rejuvination procedure, to wind back their biological clocks from the 80's to the mid 20's. The aim is to allow the woman to continue research of alien radio signals, but she demands that her husband be allowed to have the rollback as well. His is successful, but hers is not. Numerous issues related to that problem are explored, including the nature of a previously loving marriage, now altered forever. There are many thoughtful moments, as you would expect from Sawyer. There are also some awkward ones, where the character interactions and decisions are unconvincing. It's an interesting premise, but the story failed to sustain the potential. It was not a total disappointment, however, and was certainly worth reading.
