Book Reviews of Room on the Broom

Book Review: Great story, great artwork
Summary: 5 Stars

We love this book and enjoy reading it to our 3 year old son. It will be a tradition to pull this book out around Halloween time and read it to him for years to come. The story is cute and the artwork is fantastic. The text is easy to read and the story length is just right for children to keep their attention. This would be great for teachers or day care workers to read to their children too. The book arrived quickly as usuual, and in good condition from the delivery.

Book Review: Great story, great illustrations
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my son after getting turned on to Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler when I bought The Gruffalo. I have since bought most of their books and I'm usually not disappointed. This book is one of my favorites and also one of my sons favorites to read. He is 18 months old and carries it around with him. Before his naps and bedtime, I always read to him a few different books. Now that he's older, I ask him to bring me books that he wants me to read and this one is regularly brought to me to read. I don't mind at all because the story is really cute and it is a great rhyming "read-aloud" and the illustrations are eye-catching.

Book Review: I am 5 1/2 and I love this book.
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this book from the halloween section at my school library. But it is fun to read all year long. I asked my mom to buy me a copy of my own. My favorite part is when the dragon comes. My moms favorite part is the truly magnificent broom at the end. The animals are cute and well drawn as they take on human attributes. Highly recommended.

Book Review: I opened my book, and whoosh, they were hooked!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite halloween books to read to my class. The children are captivated by the rhyming text as well as the illustrations. After the first reading, they chant together "the witch tapped her broomstick, and whoosh, they were gone!". They giggle as each additional friend hops on the broom, wondering just how many will fit on it. At the climax of the story, they meet a scary dragon (just the right spookiness for preschoolers) and all of the friends pitch in to help save their witch. And finally, just when you think all of the fun is over, the witch casts a spell to make a "truly magnificent ..."(you have to read it yourself to find out how it ends)

Book Review: Kids love it
Summary: 5 Stars

My kindergarten students loved this book and had great fun with predicting and participating! The rhyme and repetition are great for young students and it's one of my favorite new books.
