Book Review: A darkly realistic and uncommonly poor novel

If you are interested in reading an endless devotional to a woman with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, this is your book. The author provides no explanation, explicit or implicit, as to why the narrator is so smitten, while creating a truly unattractive and unpredictable personality in his title character. The novel may be representative of a new style of "darkly realistic urban novels" but that does not make a bad book good.
