Book Review: A Life Changing Story
Summary: 5 Stars
When I first found out that we had the choice to pick our own book to do a book report on I was excited. A lot of people recommended books by S.E. Hinton. So, I trusted them and checked out Rumble Fish. Right when I opened it I was sucked into a whole new life. This was the life of Rusty James.
Rusty James is a tough young teen who faces the truth of friends, enemies and life. Rusty lives in a town with gangs, and murders, yet he loves to cross the line. Through all of the good and bad times his best friend Steve stays by his side. Patty is Rusty-James's girlfriend. She is protective, loving and able to stand up for herself. Biff Wilcox is the town bully. He thinks he is the tough guy and enjoys messing with Rusty. The Motorcycle Boy is a mysterious guy. He is there one minute and when you turn your head he is gone.
Somehow Rusty always gets into trouble, whether it is with his girlfriend, or other gangs, and he always seems to get out of it. There are some consequences, though, that will change his life. During this book Rusty grows and his friends change.
I think that this book is one of my favorite because it pulled me out of my own life and into someone else's. While I read this book I laughed and cried. If a book is able to make you show your emotions, than it is one to remember. I recommend this book to everyone. I never read a book like this one and I loved it. I am excited to read other books by S.E. Hinton.
