Book Reviews of Sacred Circles: A Guide To Creating Your Own Women's Spirituality Group

Book Review: An excellent tool for the quest for the sacred feminine!
Summary: 5 Stars

I wish I had read this book when a friend and I tried to start a group that would study/read books about feminist theology. The concepts of council sharing, ritual, and the stages of community building would have been very helpful. I'm teaching a hospice volunteer training session class on spirituality soon and also a journal writing as a spiritual tool class at Chautauqua this summer and just got lots of ideas from this book, especially starting with a ritual that will include silence and an "altar" in the center of our space. A very practical and inspirational book!

Book Review: Excellent
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent overview of women's spirituality groups. I am amazed at how similar it is to my own experience as a member of a "sacred circle." Anyone interested in forming such a group or curious about the experiences of others in such a group should read this book.

Book Review: Excellent resource - very thorough
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has it all if you want to start your own group. Easy to read, fleshes out every aspect needed to get a group going, and spiritually thougtht-provoking. A friend and I have begun our own group as a direct result of this book. Particularly helpful was a chapter offering fully planned out meetings (theme and alter suggestions, readings, group activity options). It's all mapped out. It also has lists of other resources that are available to support woman's groups (books, videos, music, web sites, etc.)

Book Review: Forning a Circle Without Nervousness
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted to start a Women's Spirituality Group but I never started any kind of group. I was not sure where to begin and that is where Sacred Circles came into play. I read the book, highlighted what I felt was important and then followed the suggestions. Sacred Circles walked me through step-by-step with the planning. It suggested how to run the first meeting and ideas for future meetings. After I told my friend about the book and she read some of it, she agreed to be my partner. This was the most informing book that I found on the subject. It took the edge off a new endeavor.

Book Review: Inspiring and practical guide that really works
Summary: 5 Stars

I used this book to start a spirituality group and I have nothing but praise for it! Everything you need to start your own group is there, including meeting topics that are already planned out for you. My group has relied heavily on this guide, both in our formative stage and also during the first few months of meetings. I anticipate that we will continue using it for at least another year or two. My copy has circulated amongst all the group members -- it's getting pretty dog-eared! "Sacred Circles" has been the main contributing factor in the success of my group.
