Book Reviews of Sail

Book Review: 4 1/2 Stars
Summary: 4 Stars

Struggling to maintain family cohesion after the death of her husband, Anne Dunne plans an elaborate sailing vacation that is unexpectedly challenged by her teenage daughter's suicidal thoughts, her older son's drug use, her younger son's apparent catatonia, and a catastrophic accident. BT.
Yes, James Patterson can knock out a novel in no time, yet they are as entertaining as heck to read. They're quick and to the point. There wasn't much new in this story but you'll still want to take it all in in one sitting.

Book Review: A Patterson Flop
Summary: 2 Stars

Because of the lead author, I ordered this book. Was I ever disappointed.
This is not the James Patterson of the past, his co-author had to have
written this. It is trite, tacky and terrible. What a waste of money.
Don't order this book....characters are trashy and the story line is so
obvious that you don't need to finish it. Hopefully, Patterson will go back to the way he used to write.Sail

Book Review: A Roller Coaster Ride Worth Waiting In Line For
Summary: 4 Stars

A good read for the male or female. Only Patterson could get away with the change of personality so quickly with a leading character. Lot's of twists & turns on every page.

Book Review: A VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE ....
Summary: 4 Stars

I was relunctant to purchase this book after the disappointment of the last Patterson/Roughan collaboration ..... "You've Been Warned", but I was very pleasantly surprised and actually had a hard time putting it down until it was finished. I would have given it 5 stars except for the following two reasons:
1. Not very plausible, ie, a tuna that swallows a coke bottle with a message in it; a compound fracture that is not treated for quite an amount of time and the infection mysteriously goes away, etc. (but that is why we call it fiction).
2. Unnecessary appearance of the ghost of Katherine's former husband did nothing to enhance the story.

Other than that it was very enjoyable, fast paced, the 3 children are right out of today's dysfunctional families and very believable; and, the bad guys got what they deserved at the end. A great read for the beach or a rainy weekend day.

Book Review: A definite 5 Starrer!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a die-hard, avid Patterson fan and before starting his newest bookSail I told myself that "this one" couldn't be as good as the one I just finished, or even the one before that. Well, I was wrong. SAIL is fantastic! I didn't want it to end, and because I couldn't put it down, I finished reading it in a day and a half.....probably would've finished it sooner had I not had a full-time job to go to.

The characters are all interesting, and certainly not without their personal problems..which makes it that much more real and easy to relate to. SAIL is a MUST READ!! I'm hoping too much time doesn't elapse before the next Patterson/Roughan novel. Thank you.
