Book Review: Good in the original - flawed in the translation.
Summary: 3 Stars

Don't get me wrong here - I absolutely love Sailor Moon. I own all of the original Japanese manga. The artwork is stunning, the story is fascinating, and I treasure my collection of the originals.

Then I picked up the Mixx translations, and...well. I admit that it's a lot easier to read this than to have the Japanese manga in one hand and an English translation in the other. But the English translations I originally had are a lot more faithful to the original than this. Mixx seems to delight in changing things for no particular reason ("I like to eat pudding" becomes "I like to eat Pringles" - wha?) and to alter the little notes from Naoko until they barely resemble what she originally wrote. I'm of a mixed opinion here, and I doubt I'll be buying more of the Mixx versions.
