Book Reviews of Saint Tail #1Book Review: Capture The Magic Of Saint Tail! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a really cuite little book! Really interesting, plus the pictures are drawn really well. Sort of a CLAMP and a Yuu Watase mix. If you like mahou shoujo, you have to love Saint Tail. Really adorable really!
Book Review: Cool! Summary: 5 Stars
Kaitou Saint Tail (Or, translated here as "Saint Tail") is about a young girl named Meimi who transforms into Saint Tail, a theif who takes stolen items and returns them to their owners. Her rival is a boy in her Catholic school class- Asuka Jr. Asuka is the son of a detective who wants nothing more than to capture Saint Tail to get his name made for the future. With the help of her best friend Seira, who is a sister-in-training, Saint Tail has many daring(and somewhat romantic...)encounters with her enemy Asuka Jr. Saint Tail #1 also includes two bonus stories that Ms. Tachikawa wrote earlier in her career. Megumi Tachikawa is an amazing manga artist and this is a fine example of her beautiful work. This is a great beginning shoujo manga, and I would reccomend it to anyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Book Review: Cute and Fun Summary: 5 Stars
I had so much fun reading this book! Its about a girl called Meimi who is actually a magician-like thief who returns stolen and wrongfully taken items to their rightful owners. Her nun-in-training friend helps her with info on stolen items, while the son of a detective, Asuka Jr. tries to capture her.
Book Review: Cute, funny, romantic, and magical. Summary: 4 Stars
This book is a must read for anyone who is totally into manga. It's all about this eighth grade girl who is secretly the thief Saint Tail. There's a twist to all of her thefts, Saint Tail only strikes those who have acquired their items through wicked ways. She is a good theif if there ever was one. Meanwhile, Saint Tail is being tracked down by the son of a detective, Asuka Jr. In her disguise as common schoolgirl Meimi leaves various calling cards to challenge the "great" deductive skills of Asuka Jr. I left a WHOLE lot out and I'm not tellin' what so you'll just have to read it and find out. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books like Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura, or to anyone who is into manga. This book is totally sweet and charming with a magical and romantic twist, sort of like a hint of lemon (although not nearly so sour).
Book Review: DNAngel meets Robin Hood Summary: 5 Stars
Saint Tail is the story of a young, Catholic school girl named Meimi Haneoka. By day, she's a perfectly normal girl who worries about fashion, grades, and boys just like everyone else. But at night she becomes Saint Tail: a mysterious theif who, with the help of her friend Seira (a nun-in-training), steals stolen items and returns them to the original owner. Every time she goes on a new mission, she sends a calling card to Asuka Jr, her classmate and rival who is training to be a detective. Asuka Jr is always on the scene of Saint Tail's heists and tries his hardest to catch her.
I started reading Saint Tail back when I was in grade school and have loved the series since. The relationship that Meimi and Asuka Jr share is just so perfectly sweet and innocent that you'll get a cavity just from reading it. Each character has their own perfectly unique personality and with each volume comes new adventures with new life lessons for Meimi and Asuka Jr as they blossom into adulthood.
If you're into such manga as Card Captor Sakura or Sailor Moon, you'll love Saint Tail. This is a great shojo manga and is the perfect addition to any magical girl collection. However, if something like Saint Tail sounds a little too sweet and innocent for you and you want something a little more grown-up, I would reccomend DNAngel. It's a lot like Saint Tail except the main character's a guy named Daisuke who transforms unwillingly into the angel Dark and keeps the items he steals for himself. Daisuke is interested in a girl from school and Dark happens to like her twin. The plot becomes even more complicated when the twin Daisuke likes is interested in Dark and the one Dark likes is interested in Daisuke.
