Book Reviews of Sandworms of Dune

Book Review: Fantastic buildup and ending
Summary: 5 Stars

Congratulations to the authors for synthesizing decades of creative writing into this grand finale. I would rate this book in my top 2 or 3 of the entire series. It brings back a lot of characters and ideas from the first book but in an entirely different context. The plots are clearly built and deployed so that conclusions makes sense. The authors also never hesitate to decimate the good side in order to make the reader sympathize more with them and feel nervous about the ultimate outcome. Great book.

Book Review: Final Analysis
Summary: 4 Stars

Sandworms ties a lot of loose ends going way back the the first prequel. Although not Frank Herbert, this is still a very gpood read.

The only thing I miss is Who Killed Asmoden?

Book Review: Flood the publishers and writers with your emails and tell them to stay away from further desecration of DUNE
Summary: 1 Stars

I have read all the bad reviews given by people here. Now I believe we need to take some action of our own. Everyone who hated this book needs to email the writers(sic) and the publisher and tell them that they need to stop desecrating the work of Frank Harbert. These authors(sic) are talking about writing another trilogy the first one titled "Paul of Dune". And just like the crapfest that Sandworms and Hunters were, it's going to have 110 chapters.
These guys have defiled one of the greatest work of fictions(not just sci-fi) and they want to continue doing it. They don't even realize that just like great jazz, a great epic is defined by that which is left unsaid and left to the understanding and interpretation of the individual reader thereby adding greatly to the mythos of the entire creation.
I implore all those indebted to Frank Harbert to get on this and send your e-mails to them and let it be known, enough is enough. We will not buy another single crappy novel about Dune from them. Please. Do it.

Book Review: For Dune Lovers
Summary: 5 Stars

Sandworms of Dune is a worthy continuation to the Dune saga. While lacking the same style as the original Dune novels, the latest Dune books still capture the essence that is Dune. I recommend this novel to all true Dune fans.

Book Review: Good action, Intresting Ideas, Bad Dune.
Summary: 2 Stars

Fans of pulp sci-fi like the star wars or star trek novels will probably like this book. However if you are looking for Dune, you will be left scratching your head. The book directly contradicts the events of the last Dune book by Frank Herbert. The problem is the Authors try and shoe horn their own plot and characters into spaces they don't fit. As I read it, I came away thinking that the major motive was money, and not a love for Dune, or any attempt to stay within the lines so to speak of the late Frank Herberts work.

The book does a good job of showing the action that takes place, and has some moments that ring true to the first six books, but the themes you come away with are in direct contention with what the Elder Herbert wrote. I came away wishing the Authors would write their own book, and not walk on the novels that Frank Herbert wrote, being as they don't want to stay within what he set up for dune 7 anyways.
