Book Reviews of Say Goodbye

Book Review: Wow
Summary: 5 Stars

This is truly a tough read and I mean that in a chilling sense. I had to close my eyes at the bad parts. I could not put the book down but as other reviews some of it was so hard to read. It did remind me of the movie "I know my first name is Steven". You definately have to be able to handle the abuse in the book...and yes I slept with the lights on for a couple of days and hugged my kids a little tighter each night, but I am amazed at the author to write such a chilling book. I was not wild about the end of the book, I must say I was hoping for more. I gave it 5 stars for terror factor.

Book Review: confusing
Summary: 1 Stars

THis is the most confusing book I have ever tried to read. The "first person" chapters seemed to be several people, not just one. Still don't know who it was supposed to be.

In one chapter, the victim beat the villan to death. The next chapter and from there on the villan just keeps appearing. Don't know who got beaten to death.

In the beginning of the book, the little boy was abducted from his home in the middle of the night. In the epilogue, it said that he was abducted on the way home from school.

Some chapters were devoted exclusively to spiders and their care, personalities, characteristics. Can't think of a less interesting subject to have to read about.

To me, no character seemed to be fully defined or identified. Also did not like the arrogant, self-centered, self-righteous, aggressive main character, Kimberly.

Do not recommend. A total waste of time

Book Review: disturbing 4 Stars

probable spoilers
yes it was disturbing and i had to stop reading 3 times but in the end when the last boy was saved and the MONSTER was killed i was glad i also wanted to kill him myself.somtimes i wake up at night and take a stroll through the house just to be sure and i call my sisters to make sure they are ok. i read The Neighbor first and was disturbed with the husband now i understand him. The Neighbor isn't as disturbing. if nothing else my eyes are wide open and i will keep my children close

Book Review: one of my fave garner books.
Summary: 4 Stars

I notice that some reviewers feel that Lisa Gardner's book "Say Goodbye" was too graphic too dark... they didn't like it...welll ya know what?........ I LOVED IT, It's about time she has expanded the horizon. I have only read the quincy novels, and as awesome as they are... she plays it a bit safe. MURDER IS GRAPHIC, it's not tame, it doesn't spare our emotions, if you are reading a book that has to do with murder theres a chance it will be graphic and maybe even offend you.. why? BECAUSE MURDER IS OFFENSIVE. I really loved this book, I loved how you didn't know which character was the victime, I liked the little twist at the end. My only real complaint was the very last 2 pages of the book. I felt that all the characters went through hell and then some, it was nice to see one of the characters make it through and I thought that maybe the character might one day find peace in their lives, I thought this character didn't fully get corrupted ans had a good heart but then it turns out the character is vengeful and might possibly turn out to be the very same thing that had turtured him, it was a downer, but then again... so is murder. To Lisa, if you see this... keep doing what you're doing, it's awesome.

Book Review: sick sick sick
Summary: 1 Stars

I had to put this book down after about 300 pages due to the over-detailed abuse of a young boy, and sadistic sexual violence. Makes you wonder about the author and their own sick perceptions. Ick!
