Book Reviews of Second ChanceBook Review: Definitely Different Summary: 3 Stars
From the beginning it's obvious that "Second Chances" is a far cry from the chick lit we all know and love. That being said, I still enjoyed this book. True, it wasn't what I was expecting. It is full of serious topics such as death, alcoholism and infertility. But it's still a well written book. Jane Green is a talented author and this crossing on genres worked well for her. I'm praying that the next book is bubbly and chick lit-y though. I'd recommend this.
Book Review: Entertaining from the very beginning! Summary: 4 Stars
What a different and exciting read!
Loved how from page 1 to the very end I was engaged.
Would have been 5 stars if there were no blasphemy.
Book Review: FAST PACE EASY STORY Audio unab 10cd Summary: 4 Stars
A group of adults in their 30s gathers to mourn a dear friend,Tom, unexpectedly killed in a terrorist attack in New York. The friends all gather in Britain for Tom's memorial in his hometown.
As these friends gather, they but must accept the realities of their adult lives. It becomes clear that Tom was the centre piece who, all these years, kept them together although none of them really kept in touch, Tom kept in touch with them all. Then report to each of the others how everyone is doing.
The story has everything in it betrayal, alcoholism, infertility, divorce, love and loyalty to old friends.
Fast pace easy lite read I highly recommended this story.
Book Review: Fell in love with the characters... hated the ending Summary: 3 Stars
I've only read one other Jane Green book (Jemima J) and this one was quit different. Not that I should compare them I guess.
I would have rated this 4 stars if the ending hadn't been absolutely dreadful.
The book follows the lives of 4 friends that reunite after about 20 years because of a horrible tragedy. You fall in love with these characters.... although there is a bit of redundancy while describing certain people.
The book has wonderful humor, and realistic and heartwarming parts, but falls on flat on the ending for me.
I hate when brand new characters are introduced in the last chapter. =(
And when lives of those you want to hear about aren't explained. I'm trying so hard not to ruin the book.
If it had normal chick lit ending it would be absolutely fabulous.
Book Review: Friends forever Summary: 5 Stars
I have a group of people that have been my friends since high school and we get together as often as we can. I love these stories of friends and their special bonds. Usually the group is just females. It is so refreshing to read a book that also includes males as friends.
