Book Reviews of Second Chance

Book Review: Second Chance
Summary: 4 Stars

I love Jane Green, this is another great look at life and all that that entails. Jane shows the intimacy of friendship and loss so well.

Book Review: Smells like the Big Chill
Summary: 2 Stars

I was so disappointed with "Second Chances". I have loved many of Jane Green's books, escaping to the funny world of her protagonists and transporting myself back to England. The character's were flat and the circumstances in the book seemed a photocopy of the Big Chill. Within the first chapter, I could not wait to get the book over with as this scenario has been done many times and I kept expecting a new twist. Hope better for the next one.

Book Review: Sweet Reunion Story
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a sweet, light story about a group of friends from high school who have lost touch and moved on with a life of their own, with the exception of Tom. He was the one string that kept in touch and tied them all together. He had a very special, touching relationship with each of them, and when Tom died in an unexpected and tragic terror attack, it brought everyone back together.

Each friend had their own troubles to find a way to deal with, without Tom. Once they got back together, they helped each other through break ups, alcoholism and families. Of course there is a happy ending and they suddenly remain in contact from that point on, but sometimes it takes a tragedy to show you what's important.

Book Review: Was disappointed...
Summary: 2 Stars

I was disappointed in this book. Firstly, there were so many characters introduced and I found that I only really cared about Holly. So much time was spent on the other characters and they really weren't all that interesting. Secondly, the HEA (happily ever after) at the end for Holly was really lacking. It seemed like the author just got tired of writing the book at the end and wanted to wrap it up with a relationship that was explained in just a couple paragraphs. The whole reunion scene at the end was not exciting to me either. Thirdly, what happened to Will? Who knows? I was totally falling for Will, too. I suppose the book was interesting enough for me to read the entire thing, but it was rather depressing. It really could have been better if the ending wasn't so dreadful.

Book Review: What happened, Jane?
Summary: 3 Stars

It took me about three weeks to read this book because I kept forcing myself to pick it up. It was soooo boring. There are a couple of interesting parts but there is so much filler in between. It's not realistic at all. Green's other books are wonderful..this one is not worth the read.
