Book Review: Tragic Story of Tony C. - Red Sox's Sluggers Fateful Career!

Anyone who loved baseball around in the mid to late 60's knew this Bosox star was headed for Cooperstown Hall of Fame until that fateful August 18th night in Anaheim when a Jack Hamilton fastball smashed into young Tony's face that almost claimed his life and prematurely ended what seemed to be a HOF career. Tony had become the youngest player in history to amass more than 100 HR's by the age of 21 and with Red Sox on the verge of there first pennant in 20 years. But for Tony he would never be there to enjoy it. While his teammates celebrated on the last day of the season, Conigliaro sat in front of his locker crying. This book gives a detailed account of the harsh struggles he faced in trying to make a comeback only to fall short after finally being traded to of all teams (Angels) and finally eye-vision problems forcing his final retirement. A tragic end to what might have been if this fate hadn't happen.PS: Tony life ended at the young age of just 45 when he passed away in 1990.
