Book Reviews of SeinlanguageBook Review: Ah Jerry we miss you so Summary: 5 Stars
How many years has it been since the final episode of Seinfeld? Luckily there's repeats in syndication for us diehard fans. Fortunately, also, his legacy lives on in his book Seinlanguage. A little book of his preshow monologues assorted with stand up routines and various other musings from his harrowing i mean hilarious mind. My sign language for this little gem is two thuBsmbs up.
Book Review: Any Seinfeld fan can't go wrong. Summary: 5 Stars
This book contains much of Jerry's stand-up acts, and most of which have been used during the beginning and end of the episodes of his sitcom series. Written or not said through his mouth, this humor is still great. Whenever I read these entries I can imagine it all being said from his voice. Remember that humor has sustained as a people for the past 5000 years.
Book Review: Awful! Summary: 1 Stars
There's a good reason the book sells at $0.01: it's simply awful. There is almost nothing funny about this book. None of Seinfeld's "observations" are witty or interesting. Plowing through the book is a waste of time. I did not laugh even once. Seems to me that it's not bad humor, it's simply NO humor. You might like it if you're a fan of his monologues, but otherwise I suggest that you save your money for something else.
Book Review: Awful, awful, awful. Summary: 1 Stars
Anyone who had any doubts about the longevity of Seinfeld's initial schtick will be clearly vindicated by the contents of this book. This awful, awful book. This book is what happens when a limited, one-dimensional gimmick is singlehandedly responsible for the fame of a given celebrity. It is a case study in trendy humor. Barely above the level of "you ought to be a redneck if..", Jerry's observational "didja ever notice.." formula becomes scathingy obvious af ter the the first ten pages. Not only can you start predicting how every joke will end for the remaining 95% of the book, the experience is even more excruciating when you start hearing his whiny voice in your head. This book is clearly for pop culture historians or Seinfeld fanatics _only_. Just look at what readers who like the book recommend. I mean, in the words of its irritating author, "Who ARE these People?"
Book Review: Classic Jerry.... Summary: 5 Stars
...with his classic bits.I have reread it many times, ands it is great stuff. Not much more I can say...if you like Seinfeld's stuff, just read the book.
