Book Reviews of Serenity Official Visual CompanionBook Review: Must have for Firefly and Serenity fans Summary: 5 StarsComplete (in some cases it varies from actual movie) script. Includes translations of Chinese. Interview with Josh.
Book Review: Informative and interesting, but not as much as I'd hoped Summary: 4 StarsI enjoy this book, primarily for the costuming pictures and other good information. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much information as I'd hoped, though it is useful during gaming occasionally.
It's strictly about the movie, and doesn't have the information I was looking for, about Firefly-class ships and background and such, and the costuming wasn't as in-depth either.
Still, it's interesting and good to have around if you really loved the movie. It does have the full script in it, including some parts that were cut from the movie.
Book Review: True Serenity Summary: 5 StarsThis is truly a companion for teh movie. This book has great insights, and interviews. It also has the complete script in it so in case you are not sure what someone said it will be in the book. Stunning photos and lots of information.
Book Review: Get this book if you own Serenity or Firefly DVD's or both. Summary: 5 StarsYou get the full shooting script including the translated Mandarin Chinese and some deleted lines. You get details that go by to quickly in the film and production art. You get brief thoughts on the characters by the actors who play them. You get Joss's technical direction. You get "The Ballad of Serenity". You get the list of all the Alliance planets. This makes me a geek. Forget Star Trek and Star Wars. This trade paper-back format book is nicely put together and is a great addition to my library.
Book Review: Browncoats Summary: 4 StarsIf your a browncoat this book is a must have. If your just a Firefly fan then this book gives some wonderful insights to the movie.
