Book Review: A Little Too Pink, But Insightful

It sounds old fashioned, but something feels gross about parting pages that are alarmingly...pink. Aesthetics aside, however, Rob Bell's Sex God is replete with wisdom and hip sentences. I greatly appreciated the unpresuming yet pastoral tone of the prose: Bell speaks plainly and clearly in a common vernacular.
I particularly enjoyed Chapter three: "Angels and Animals."
I was blessed to read this book. The insights into sexuality, and especially spirituality were rewarding. I particularly enjoyed: `The Lord is one. The lord is echad. God is echad. It's the same word as the "one flesh" in Genesis: `And the man and the woman shall be echad flesh.' Central to the Bible is the affirmation that there is one God. Not many, one. And sex between the man and woman has something to do with God. Who God is. What God is like. Adam and Eve are one as God is one. Same word."
The only frustrating thing about Bell is his incessant incomplete sentences, unusual eschewing of traditional paragraph form, and especially the combining of the two in his unending theatrical and monotonous repetition of incomplete, single sentence paragraphs.
I love Bell's heart and mind. I don't love his style.
On a scale of hot to cold coffee, I'd rate this something like a sugary, icy cold frappaccino: it delivers the caffeine, but you have to put up with a lot of frills.
