What a wonderful book written by Karen Kingsbury! In Shades of Blue, every character has purpose and value to the story. The story centers around Brad, as he goes back in time to deal with a life changing event. Laura, his fiancee, struggles with her own emotions as she observes the man of her dreams go back in time. Emma, the girl from the past, falls into a wave of emotion and spiritual growth inside the pages of Shades of Blue.
I found the book fascinating to read....staying up to the very end to see the outcome of the story. Once you begin the story of Brad, Laura and Emma..you will not want to put the book down!
Don't miss the beginning of the book where the author explains "Forever in Fiction" as she describes how real people are included as fictional characters of this story(page 17).
When you finish the book, be sure to read page 312, where Karen Kingsbury describes the inspiration for the book and offers resources.
Shades of Blue is a non-fiction Christian book about forgiveness, trust, relationships, family, and God. I'm not going to spoil the story and share the overall theme of the book...you'll need to get a copy and when you find yourself into the story, you'll soon realize what the life-changing journey is about.
