Book Review: Pristine Sherlock Holmes at it's best

This is the second in the series of Sherlock Holmes paperback collection of stories. I read the stories in my teen years, but this series has made it very simple to re-read and refresh myself with the Sherlock Holmes stories. A very nice set and I recommend them both to be given as a gift to younger people that haven't the Sherlock Holes stories before.Book Review: Mystery

Thirty-six stories plus two of the four novels: that's more than half of the canon. All for seven bucks? We're talking about one of the classics of modern English literature. Even if it's been parodied and portrayed in more ways that you can shake a walking stick at, this collection still offers new readers the chance to discover a lifelong companion.
True, the font size is not huge (they need to fit over a thousand pages into this book, after all!), but it's certainly very legible. In return you get a book that you can take anywhere, in an admittedly large pocket. There's actually a combined book (Volumes I & II) but it's more than two pounds (weight not price!). That might be pushing it.

Either way, Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes is a classic for all time. That's elementary!

I recommend this collection for everyone. It is a literary classic that can capture any reader. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle most definitely outdid himself with his character Sherlock Holmes, giving him an addictive nature that causes the reader to want more cleverness, more deduction, more smart comments, making the reader delve further and further into the book to satiate his or her obsession. This will forever be one of my favorite books.
