If you like creepy and scary you will love this! This and Eyes of Prey have been my favorite so far!
Book Review: Bekker's Back! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow! Sandford knows how to write evil, and the return of Bekker was extremely well written. When some authors bring back characters from previous works, they often seem to be missing some of what made them effective the first time around. Not in this case! The main story (Bekker) and various subplots (police corruption, interaction with past and present romantic partners) complemented each other extremely well. The writing, plot, characters and dialogue work well together in creating one fantastic story.
Get comfortable when you start reading this book because you won't want to move until you've finished.
Book Review: Breaking the Formula Summary: 3 Stars
Silent Prey is my least favorite Prey novel thus far. One thing that Sandford does so well is develop the life of Lucas Davenport - his life and the characters in it are almost as interesting as whatever crime he's working on. Silent Pray stripped away that detail, putting Davenport in New York City and only briefly visiting characters we've grown to know in previous novels. Perhaps it was a good move to break the formula but it wasn't entirely successful. But like all of Sandford's Prey novels, it was entertaining and worth the time.
Book Review: Certain Prey Summary: 5 Stars
I have read all of the "Prey" books. This one was like the icing on the cake. Sandford just gets better and better. The 2 women antagonists blew me away. Lucas Davenport is the kind of cop I'd want working for me. He's smart, persistent, tenacious. If you haven't read any of Sandford's Prey series this is a great place to start.
Book Review: Davenport's Revenge Summary: 5 Stars
Way to go Davenport AND your love interest survived this time! Maybe the Davenport curse regarding relationships with women has been lifted? Like "Eyes of Prey" finished this one in two evenings also. Overheard a woman in our local bookstore tell the clerk that her mother had read all of Sandford's book and I can see why she read the whole series. Sandford is like popcorn, once you start his books are hard to put down.
