Book Review: A Fantastic and Humorous Must-Read

I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this author, this being her debut. I absolutely hope and pray it won't be her last!
I have been a huge historical romance fan for years and feel qualified to say that this book is nothing like any other romance out there. The hero is not dashing or handsome and certainly doesn't have a silver tongue. (In one hilarious scene, he compares the heroine to his favorite dog!) In the beginning, the reader is convinced that the heroine is the perfect lady. However, it is soon apparent that under her ladylike facade lurks an unconventional, fun-loving woman. There were so many times that I laughed out loud that I'm sure my husband thinks I am crazy. (He kept giving me strange looks.) And, the story carried itself beautiful without the abundance of gratuitous sex scenes that have become so common in romance novels. This book is worth every one of the five stars I've given it.
