Book Reviews of Skinny BitchBook Review: This book is literally just the ethical argument for not eating meat! Summary: 1 StarsIf you thought this book was a chic girls book with good tips for staying slim - wrong!!
It moves into the case for being a vegetarian and has whole chapters just describing how animals are killed.
Fair point- it may be cruel...but felt the argument was shoved down my throat as it was not why i bought the book!
Rubbish!!!
Book Review: Don't even think of buying this Summary: 1 StarsThis has to be the worst book I have ever read, and I read a lot. It is not what it says on the cover: it is nothing but a strident diatribe in favour of vegetarianism. Its factual content is deliberately misleading and often plainly wrong. It claims that humans never suffer from protein deficiency: ask those who know about kwashiorkor. It claims that vegetarian diets have everything you need: then, much later, it says that veggies need vitamin B12 supplements. Its only really valuable point is outside its claimed area of interest is that it exposes many conflicts of interest in the regulatory process for American food production. But that is just a distraction to make you throw up when thinking about eating meat. Better to eat raw cow than contaminate your mind with this rubbish.
Book Review: The strangest, easiest way to lose weight Summary: 5 StarsA friend of mine told me about this diet and with it she was able to lose 30 pounds. Before I didn't believe in such diets but when I saw my friend I understood that this is possible.I need to lose some weight so I'll try the diet.Hope it will have the same result on me as on my friend. I want to loose weight and also to begin to take more care of my appearance so I also bought a book that I recommend - "How to be a Super Hot Woman: 339 Tips to Make Every Man Fall in Love with You and Every Woman Envy You by Mandy Simons" I think every woman should do everything to look gorgeous. I'm glad such books with great tips exist.
Book Review: The truth hurts, girls! Summary: 5 StarsI love this book. It was written in a vulgar, yet funny tone. If it offends you, you should grow some thicker skin! Great information on how to become healthy, and look great at the same time.
Dairy is now out of my diet, and I look and feel so much better.
Book Review: Don't read if you love meat! Summary: 4 StarsI bought this book after reading the cover line "A no-nonsense tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous!" It wasn't until I got home that I realised it was advocating veganism. Not a problem for me because after reading the book in one afternoon, it made sense to me. Like another reviewer I have so far been following a vegan diet for 80% of the time, only consumed dairy/eggs when eating out or eating food made for me.
I've followed this for 3 and a half months and I lost a few pounds and my skin has become so much clearer. It has not at all been detrimental to my health/appearance as many people may assume.
Before I read this book I ate very little meat and was quite familiar with health food shops which I think helped.
The bad language was not a problem for me and I found parts quite funny, like being at a bootcamp.
If you're sensitive to bad language and don't want to stop eating meat, don't read this book.
