Book Review: Great book to read aloud.

We borrowed this book from the library and enjoyed it so much that we had to have our very own copy. It is my husband's favorite book to read to our children. The title character is just that - a character, with a great imagination. And the rhymes make us all giggle. I don't see how anyone can find these Skippyjon books racist or inappropriate in any way- the kids love it, they're funny, and by the way, I'm Mexican and find it not at all offensive. Lighten up! They are not denegrating, they are simply funny- give the Mexican chihuahuas credit- they can speak a second language- can you?! Would you find it offensive if an English character used British "isms", or a French character wore a beret? Ate some French bread? Have fun reading- all her books have so far amused my 3-5 year olds.Book Review: Great read for adults and children alike!

This so well written that you will enjoy reading it to your child/children as much as your child/children will enjoy the story! The names and the little nick-names the author has chosen are perfect and funny. I have purchased so many copies of this book to give out as gifts, yet I can never seem to keep one on the shelf for my own library because I seem to always be running into somebody that I can give it to as a gift! The second book, Skippyjon Jones in the Doghouse is just as good as the first one, and comes with an audio CD read by the author; my kids just giggled themselves onto the floor listening to it as they read along with the book in their laps. I've already pre-ordered the third book set to release in October 2006!Book Review: Hilarious Fun for the Whole Family!

My 4-year old daughter and my husband and I absolutely love this book. It's one I never get tired of reading! It is so funny, and the illustrations are terrific. My daughter loves to play "invisible Skippyjon Jones" now! A wonderful book. My highest recommendation!Book Review: Holy Bambito!!!!!
