Book Review: A must read for all Americans
Summary: 5 Stars
Every American should read this book. The Hortons give an overview of slavery in the U.S., and its effects on our culture and institutions, covering several centuries beginning with the first introduction of slaves in 1619. The book is only 231 pages long, so they have to treat all of the issues in a quick survey, but if you are not familiar with the background to what drove slavery in this country (egregious greed), and the political, social, religious and violent attempts to keep African Americans depressed as a people - not only as slaves but even as freemen in all the states - then I recommend this book as a MUST read.
