Book Review: A Fun New Series!
Summary: 4 Stars
Fred is not your typical mermaid. She is a little rude, sarcastic, she definately doesn't sing and she is laugh out loud funny. She works at an aquarium and swims in salt water pools because she hates seaweed.
The new guy at work (Thomas)catches her eye and asks for help on a special project. She turns him down. Then the mermaid prince (Artur)pays a visit to her parents house seeking her help with the same problem.
She then decides to team up with both Thomas and Artur to find out who is polluting the water.
They get some help from a wonderful supporting cast of characters.
Soon both Thomas and Artur are competeting for Freds affections. She is not easily won over.
One of my favorite characters was Jonas. He has been her best friend for years. He is the only one who knows about her fins. He is metrosexual, reliable, handsome and the perfect sidekick to Fred's rough and crass persona.
This was a fun, quick story. A little too quick for me. The solving of the mystery at the end was a little rushed and silly, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Typical laugh out loud humor that you expect from a MJD read.
I think this is going to be a great new and unique series and look forward to the next books.
