Book Review: A Conversation With Lovely "Aunts" Who Want YouTo Have A Gracious Life

I have a smile on my face as I review this book, written by two lovely and gracious southern ladies. The book started with a conversation about the value of manners, before getting down to specifics.
Strategies were given for handling bullies, knowing what fork to use, how to write thank-you notes, make introductions properly, shake hands, and when to sit or stand. Table manners were covered in greater detail. Some attention was also given to business and travel etiquette.
A large amount of coverage was given to hospitality, being a proper hostess or a thoughtful guest. There is a section on tipping and how to make excellent and appropriate conversation at dinner parties. There was an interesting section on how to eat certain 'difficult' foods. We got some help on what to do when, not if, we make mistakes.
A final section gave brief recommendations on staring, shouting, talking about physical ailments, fighting over the restaurant bill, etc.
All-in-all, this is a charming little book with delightful illustrations, many of which look like they should be framed and displayed.
