Summary: 4 Stars

Halley and Scarlett have been best friends forever. Ever since Halley met Scarlett they have been BFF's. When Halley is at the SIsterhood Camp, Scarlett calls saying that her boyfriend, Michael Sherwood, was dead. When she goes back home, she realizes that the time before school started would be a hard time on Scarlett. One day, while they are working at Milton's (where they work), Scarlett runs up to Halley, dragging her to the bathroom. SHe tells her that she is pregnant because every single one of her pregnancy tests have said she was pregnant. Then, the rest of the bok talks about the troubles that Scarlett has.
Meanwhile...
Halley has met a boy named Macon. He was Michael's best friend. They become girl friend and boyfriend, but slowly (and painfully) Halley realizes that they were never meant to be.

Both Scarlett and Halley are both going through their troubles together, hand in hand because, they know that surving (in high school especially) it is impossible to not have a best friend, who can help you through you struggles and hard times. It is like a roller coaster. All of your bumps and turns are part of it. They aren't fights, they are expiriences that they have to go to together, and this year was the biggest roller coaster of the year, filled with more bumps and turns then possibly imaginable.

This charming book tells the friendship of two best friends going through the hardest year of their life. From Michael's death to the baby. It is about how every person should have a friend, to stick by 24/7. It is a great book and i encourage many teens and young teens to read this great story.

Book Review: this is one GREAT book.

I have read This Lullaby, by Sarah Dessen, and I loved it so much, I thought I'd read another one of her books, hoping it'd be just as great. Like This Lullaby, Dessen has a way of getting to the teenage readers, all of her books are extremely relateful. I am 16 years old, and as the main character, Hally is 16 too, I see myself doing and thinking the same things she does.
It was hard for me to put this book down, (I felt like such a geek, reading every chance I could get in my classes.) I managed to finish it in 4 days, and I fell inlove with it. Its easy reading, but it really gets you thinking, and may even change your viewing on life, relationships, friendships, and parents.
READ IT! (and if you haveent read 'This Lullaby' be sure to read that one too)
I plan on getting another one of Dessens books soon.
