Book Reviews of Someone Like You

Book Review: Dissapointing
Summary: 2 Stars

The beginning of the book was awesome!!!
It had me up until like 3:00 a.m. reading!!
But then at the end, when Halley didn't take Macon back, it deeply dissapointed me. I didnt finish the end of the book because it seemed boring without them together.

Book Review: For All Ages
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fun, yet thoughtful novel that can be enjoyed by teens as well as their moms. It would make a good selection for a mother/daughter book club. Readers will root for these characters who are going through some really tough things like teen pregnancy, hanging out with questionable people, and having to deal with parents who seem overprotective to their kids.
The teens are realistically portrayed. The story of the friendship between two girls who seem to be on different paths after so many years of doing everything together, is at times heartbreaking, but in the end very satisfying.

Book Review: Friendship Lives On
Summary: 5 Stars

As Dessen's second novel, it's also a bit different from her current books. Halley was a strong central character, who gracefully changed as the book went on. I like how it wasn't immediate, and it wasn't a complete 180 - it was just enough of a realization to make it believable. Of course, there's a relationship in the mix - Halley falls for the not-so-great guy who just doesn't get it, but her belief in herself, as well as her friendship, overcomes him. I loved that most about the book - the strong bond of friendship, and how it can get you through anything.

Mostly, I loved Scarlett, the pregnant friend. She's strong, fiesty, and full of spirit - by far one of my favorite Dessen characters. Their bond is truly fantastic, and made me want to hug all of my best friends from the past. Really fun book, and inspirational story.

Book Review: Good Book
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a very good book, although I wished she would have stayed with Macon after he apologized and told her he loved her. I really wish there was a sequel where they got back together or something.

Book Review: Good, but not my favourite
Summary: 3 Stars

It was good. The third book I've read of her's in three days, but I like Just Listen and The Truth About Forever better.
