Book Reviews of Someone Like YouBook Review: Loved it :) Summary: 4 Stars
As with all of the other Sarah Dessen's books that I have read, this one is terrific! Everything changes with one phone call. A life lost, lives change, a new life born and a community is brought together by merely chance. Scarlett and Halley are the perfect example of best friends. They support each other in ways that even I haven't experienced with my own friends. Halley has always seen her mother and Scarlett as the strong ones, but this time it's Halley who has to be strong for both of them. Michael may be "dead" physically but he seemed so alive to me by the way that he was just ever so present in their lives! Then of coarse this is a Dessen book and we of coarse are going to have the love factor here. Halley ends up falling for bad boy/ Michael's best friend Macon. This book goes into forgiveness, the choices of having to grow up even if your still a kid yourself, and the power of young love. Dessen continues to completely captivate me in all of her stories and this one is no exception. Definitely a must read guys! I give this novel 4 out of 5 paws.
Book Review: MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER Summary: 5 Stars
Who's your best firend? Your first love? The first person you lost? All of these people you will probably remember forever, I know I will! For Halley, there's no way she could forget any of these people. Scarlett has been Halley's best friend since they were 11, and are closer then any sisters I know, esspecially during their junior year. Scarlett's boyfriend Michael was killed the day after their baby was concieved, which obviously put stress on their friendship, but it was far from breaking. Then Halley got involved with Michael's best friend Macon, who skips school, is almost never at home and seems to live a secret life. Though she loves him, she thinks of Scarlett each time she gets close to giving Macon her viginity, but can she take that risk?
It is amazing how much I think I know, but I still learn new things everyday; whether it's with my pals or in my favorite book, I always spot something new. When I read this book a second time I realized so many vivid details that I had skipped, because the first time all the powerful emotions weaving through each character, conversation, and experience was overwhelming. I would recommend this book to any who's, "...had a best friend- or true love..." because it shows the power and strength of friends.
Book Review: Makes you value friendship! Summary: 5 Stars
Scarlett and Halley have been best friends since the day Scarlett moved in across the street. Though they seem to be drifting apart somewhat through the summer, one rare moment brings them closer together than ever.
Scarlett's boyfriend has been killed in a motorcycle accident, and now she knows she is carrying his baby. Scarlett has always been the stronger and more outgoing friend, but now it's Halley's responsibility to be brave for her friend. Not only does Hally have to be strong for Scarlett, but for herself as well, now that she has a pressuring boyfriend, Macon.

This novel is a fantastic book for teens, because it shows you the reality of friendship. You need to be there for each other, and this book expresses just that. I highly recommend it, though be careful because it may bring a few tears to the eyes of some. This novel is heartwarming, and it truly shows you the importance of friendship. Even if you don't read this book, don't take your friends for granted!
Book Review: My favorite book ever Summary: 5 Stars
This book was magnificent! I loved it so much. It was about a girl named Scarlette who has just found a great boyfriend. Not so long after they met her boyfriend gets into a motor cycle accident. Not so long after his death Scarlette finds out that she is pregnet with his baby. Now scarlette needs major help from her best friend. I really enjoyed reading this book because it had alot of emotions in it and the auther just explained everything so well. I defentaly recomend this to all girls it was defentaly my favorite book ever! Sarah Dessen has also written other great books that I have loved. She has written, This Lullaby, Dreamland, The Truth about Forever, and That summer. I have loved all of these but I liked someone like you the most.
Book Review: Ok book Summary: 4 Stars
I started reading the book and at first I was hooked, but as the story developed more and more and Halley started her relationship with Macon and lied to her parents, it went downhill. I think that it's a good book for teen-agers. Maybe I'm not old enough to understand, but I don't think that's it. I think that you have to be comfortable with knowing that she is sneaking out of the house and doing some nasty things. It was pretty good when it was just Scarlet and Halley, but I think Macon made it go downhill.
